Cranial Therapy for Joint Pain or General Aches & Pain

Gentle caring hands on treatment is an effective way of relieving either your specific joint pain, or if you have generalised aches and pains.

What Causes Joint Pain?

Joint pain can be due to a number of structures within the joint becoming irritated or inflamed.

Structures that may be irritated in the joint include, cartilage being worn away, muscles being tight causing tension in the joint, bursae being inflamed (these are cushions of tissue to protect the joint), tendons across the joint being stretched or torn.

How Can Cranial Therapy (also known as Craniosacral Therapy or CST) Help Joint Pain?

Treatment will help relieve the tension and pain in your joints, helping increase its range of movement so you move more easily. Treatment decreases the inflammation so it’s less painful.

Generalised Aches and Pains

Sometimes the body can be achey generally, and that could be because you have an underlying problem with your alignment and joint health. For example a stiff or rotated pelvis can cause the muscles in the legs to tighten up and become achey.

Treatment can help this by looking at your whole body, and using examination to find out what is stiff and what isn’t. Then by using cranial sacral therapy to treat the joints and muscles which aren’t working at their best, you will move more easily with less pain.
